The Diocese in Europe is a vibrant and dynamic community of Anglican churches, congregations and communities spread across continental Europe and beyond.
Part of the Church of England, we have worshipping communities from Norway and Iceland in the North to Morocco and Turkey in the South.
Our chaplaincies include people of all ages and backgrounds who love Jesus Christ and seek to follow his teaching through the Anglican tradition.
We minister to those in Europe who have English as either a first or second language. Being both 'Catholic' and 'Reformed' we bridge the Reformation divide.
We sustain a huge range of ecumenical friendships.
Being the Church of England outside England comes with some quirks.
For example, our equivalent of a parish community in England we usually call a 'chaplaincy' and our equivalent of a vicar in England is usually called a 'chaplain'.
We have churches – known as chaplaincies – in more than 30 countries in continental Europe, Russia, Morocco and Turkey.
The Diocese in Europe is organised into seven regions known as archdeaconries, which are listed below. Each is overseen by an archdeacon.

It has been announced recently from Downing Street that the Revd Canon Andrew Norman, currently Director of Ministry and Mission for the Diocese of Leeds will be the next Suffragan Bishop in Europe.
He succeeds Bishop David Hamid who retired in February.
